JANUARY / CAROLYN DECARLO is a queer writer living in Aro Valley, Te Whanganui-a-Tara, with seven other mammals. She runs Food Court Books and We Are Babies Press with her partner Jackson Nieuwland. Her chapbooklength collection ‘Winter Swimmers’ was featured in AUP New Poets 5. She also co-wrote the chapbook BOUND: an ode to falling in love (Compound Press 2014).
FEBRUARY / MURRAY EDMOND is known variously for his work as a poet, playwright and fiction writer, and as an editor, critic and dramaturge. His poetry collections have been finalists in the New Zealand book awards for poetry, and he has worked for 20 years with Indian Ink’s Jacob Rajan and Justin Lewis on the creation of all that company’s scripts.
MARCH / ANUJA MITRA lives in Auckland with many cats. Her poetry appears in places like Milly, Poetry NZ, Starling and Poetry Shelf, though probably her best work lies unfinished in the notes app of her phone.
APRIL / KHADRO MOHAMED is a 24-year-old poet residing on the shores of Te Whanganui-a-Tara. Her poetry has appeared in: Starling Magazine, The Spinoff, Sweet Mammalian and Milly Magazine. Her new poetry collection is set to be published by Poneke based press We Are Babies in early 2022.
MAY / LEAH DODD is a current MA Poetry student at the IIML who enjoys gumboot tea and whale-related documentaries. Poems of hers can be found in Starling, Poetry NZ, Stasis, Milly Mag, and other places.

SEPTEMBER / VICTOR BILLOT is a Dunedin writer. His poetry collection The Sets was published by Otago University Press in 2021. He writes a weekly satirical ode on current affairs for Newsroom website.
OCTOBER / LISA SAMUELS works with experimental writing, sound and visual art, and relational theory in transnational life. Her recent works include the poetry books The Long White Cloud of Unknowing (Chax Press, 2019) and Breach (Boiler House Press, 2021). Lisa teaches and mentors university students and lives with her family in a tall house among tall trees.
